Our Zane Square colorway pulls the blue and white sky together with floral red and a bit of copper from the Lady Lisa Fountain. The square is essentially Lancaster’s Town Square - home to celebrations and public speech. The fountain, created by the J. W. Fiske Company of New York has been in continuous operation since 1890 - one hundred thirty years this year.
The Lancaster Series is a set of nine colorways inspired by colors found in images of Lancaster landmarks and things of beauty. Indie dyer Laura Regan of Created 4 U By Laura developed the colorways.
This line is produced with her Crystal Stash base, a 50-50 blend of SuperWash Merino Wool and Eucalyptus Tencel. It provides lovely drape and light sheen thanks to the tencel fiber while delivering durability and ease of stitching.
Price is $30 per skein of 115g / 412 yards of 3-ply fingering / sock weight yarn. Care is hand wash only, dry flat.
Laura also produced two patterns called The Lancaster Cowl - one for crochet, the other for knitting. Each pattern is $7.50 and classes with Laura are available to learn the stitches and create the cowl.
